Expressive in mark making, the painting conjures the movement of running horses. Sketched in brush strokes of lemon yellow horse heads and hooves appear from the dust of Italian green and orange. The chariot race and ancient greek funeral games have been a prominent theme for the artist in the last 3 years, the race as a metaphor for strength, survival, forward movement and determination. Other works in this series include 'Chariot Race', 'Stampede' and 'Funeral Games'.
