ABOUT THE ARTWORK
A work which was inspired by my last visit in the hills of Tuscany. The weather was - as you can see - not always sunny. But the rain and the clouds and the bright poppies gave it a very special atmosphere. This painting is a mixed media work on canvas done with acrylic colors and oil pastel. The canvas is ready to hang - I added a professional hanger on the back. So you just need a nail. The sides of the canvas are painted white. To protect it against dust and UV rays I sprayed it with a professional glossy varnish. The work is signed on the front. The original work is a touch light and brighter than the images here. 50 x 70 x 1.5 cm / 19.7 x 27.6 x 0.6 in

ARTIST STATEMENT: Life is a largely subjective experience; but that subjective experience is my bridge to the objective world. And it’s this synthesis of the two that I am trying to capture. INSPIRATION AND PROCESS: I love experimenting and want to give my works an individual expression. I have two lines of work: I love painting almost (but not quite) realistic, somewhat utopian, nature images and on the other hand I really enjoy doing non-objective/abstract art. I am inspired by the beauty and power of natural phenomena, the mystery of nature, its colors and forms. Every painting is a one-of-a-kind work in which I try to combine feeling and thought. I work most of the time with acrylics but I also mix acrylics with other media such as oil pastel, soft pastel, spray paint, graphite and charcoal or ink. All materials I use, if canvas, paper or paints are of artist quality.
