About The Artwork

An English countryside landscape painting portraying a crop of bright yellow rapeseed in heady full bloom with blue sky celebrating high summer. A stand of trees adds visual mass the left. This work continues the traditions of artists from Constable to Vincent Van Gogh not only in subject matter but also in modernistic treatment of the paint itself. Here the paint is applied in thick buttery impasto and the surface evidences every stroke and jab of the palette knife. The bold and uncompromising mark-making aims attempts to interpret the dynamism of experiencing nature at first hand.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I am a painter of rugged landscapes following the tradition of Welsh painter Kyffin Williams and Vincent Van Gogh. In my recent work the palette knife has taken over from the brush and I am more interested in the effects of impasto paint and the act of translating experiences into images.
