About The Artwork

Drawing or painting dinosaurs always brings back memories from my childhood. While painting this I was exploring what an Aztec velociraptor might look like. This painting is on un-stretched canvas so it can be sent rolled up in a tube. The Space Cowboy’s work is both representative and abstract. He uses vibrant colours, lines drawn with force with bursts of spray paint to create an exciting world of endless possibility. Influenced by modern masters like Francis Bacon, Vincent Van Gogh Cy Twombly and if course Jean-Michel Basquiat, his paintings are dark yet expressive, modern and bold. The Space Cowboy’s technical ability is enhanced by his background as a performer which allows him to push himself to create displaced surreal environments manipulating form and colour and blurring the lines between real life and the absurd. His paintings inspire us to explore our creative side without worrying about mistakes he encourages us to use art as a tool for introspection and personal growth.
