About The Artwork
Red Cliffs & Waterfall by Kim Rene' Inspired by my many visits to the American Southwest and my desire to translate the idea of spirit and matter within a landscape; the rock cliffs symbolizing matter or self, and the water representing the Spirit and its nourishing renewal. The rocks were textured and built up with molding paste, and a red oxide foundation built up with dozens of layers of opaque and transparent color while the waterfall is contrast is smooth and translucent in blues and greens. Pearl Mica Flakes add to the shimmer of the falling water.
