Even though this painting is of woman, all of my figures are me. A photograph I saw online was the inspiration for this painting. I tried to capture a moment of disinterest and a pensive sadness. The woman stands in her furry red coat looking off to her left. I think she is not looking at anything in particular but is deep in thought. Thinking about what? I used a palette knife to push the thick paint around. A palette knife makes for a rougher image because it does not allow the facility that a brush does. This helps the details stay at bay and gives a more simplified painting. This painting is done on stretched canvas with high quality oil paint. The 1.5" sides are painted black to give it a nice finished look. Most of my customers do not frame the work. It is delivered in a sturdy cardboard box and comes with a certificate of authenticity. It's a terrific painting!
