About The Artwork
My muse is , Buddy, my black lab. He contorts himself into wonderful shapes when he sleeps. I love the negative spaces he creates as well as the positive. In this painting, I have positioned two of him to create my composition. This is a technique I often use in my art work with all kinds of animals. I have painted the dogs mulit- reds with small tear drop shapes to define the layers of fur, painting layers of color to reach what you see here. The work is painted on a piece of flat canvas to the edges.
