ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The Lusitano horse is the direct descendant of this Iberian horse, the forebear of all horses that were at the root of all equitation throughout the world, from Europe to North África, from Ásia Minor to Índia and China. Thanks to the isolation of this part of Europe, this extraordinary horse survived here and evolved over a period of about fifteen thousand years, almost entirely free from extraneous influence until quite recently. The Lusitano is notable for great intelligence. It is also a calm, brave, and stable horse, as evidenced by its ability to remain undaunted when faced by a raging bull. Though cool under pressure, the Lusitano is also a warm and affectionate horse. I painted the head of this beautiful animals several times, in different colours and styles. The red one is big and impressive, a tribute to this beautiful Iberian horse.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Paul was born and grew up in The Netherlands. When he was 24 he moved to Germany and after 7 years to the south of Spain. His surname is really Arts by the way. Although he has worked as a physician for 35 years, his interest in the arts has only increased in time. In 2018 he started painting professionally. Often portraits and initially realistic, but over time more and more abstract. He also builds a food forest and has recently switched to painting with purely natural materials such as pigments (which he often searches for himself), linseed oil, egg yolk, gum arabic, charcoal, etc. A logical step according to Paul.
