Anna’s latest series, Archetypes of Resilience, explores the hidden forces behind human choice and emotional growth. Through portraiture, the work reflects on moments of uncertainty, inner tension, and transformation—where resilience is shaped over time. Inspired in part by the symbolic journey of the Tarot, the series does not recreate traditional tarot cards. Instead, it draws on their emotional and psychological themes, viewed through Jungian ideas of archetypes and shadow work. The focus is on feeling and intuition, and on the unconscious aspects of ourselves that we may resist or overlook. Each portrait is created through an intuitive mixed-media process. The work begins with spontaneous ink washes on paper or canvas, without sketches or planning. As figures gradually emerge, Anna develops them using acrylic paint, collage, and layered materials, allowing the image to evolve naturally rather than following a fixed plan.
