Petar Smiljanic was born in Valjevo, Serbia in 1985. He graduated from Faculty of Architecture in 2009 in Belgrade, Serbia. After he finished master in Architecture he was working in Belgrade and China (Beijing and Shenzhen) in large international companies. He showed passion about painting in his early age learning from his father who is engaged to this art. In last couple of years beside his job he is dedicated to making paintings and trying to connect these two passions on canvas. Playing with scales of the objects through different levels of abstraction the artist develop a dialog between human and the city as an actor - creator and destroyer of physical and social eco-systems. The series of painting called Human arch-scape was created as an interpretation of human figure as building block of architectural cityscape. Using knowledge and sense for perspective and space learned through architectural practice, technique and digital mediums the human and the city are presented like a one unity – heterogeneous tissue that creates different types of context. For artist that context depending on the place, current interests and emotions that he exploring in the process of painting.
