It is no secret that all Quentin Tarantino films are interconnected. His debut in 1992 with Reservoir of Dogs, named “greatest independent film of all time” has established the long run of graphic violence representation which is pivotal for all his works. This graphic display of violence, in combination with dark humour, has developed into a new cinematographic language and aesthetics that have earned Tarantino’s films a cult status among the X and Y generations. Speaking of recent Tarantino films, it is not about violence per se, it is about how the victims, the outcasts turn into power and strike revenge. Punk, on so many levels. The brilliant poster work of the American graphic designer Tyler Stout was commissioned for a Texas cinema chain twenty years after the film première. By the intricate detail in depiction, by the meticulous character representation, the poster acknowledges the cult status of Reservoir of Dogs for all the fans. The work presented here follows the original’s inventions. Except for a small detail in the upper right corner of the canvas. credit: Tyler Stout
