As a Ukrainian today, I live a surreal life, defying the ordinary. In late 2022, I painted this self-portrait using bold strokes and vivid colors, capturing the surreal events that shaped my life. Through this piece, I expressed my deep emotions about war, dignity, and the unyielding quest for freedom. I sought to depict the experience of an ordinary Ukrainian whose vital yet often overlooked role has been a significant part of this war.

While exploring this problem, Anna strengthened her will and determination to focus on the global theme of inequality and injustice, which gradually emerged in her recent works.
