This piece is a very colorful expression of my take on resilience. This artwork was the product of growth and a very busy mind while trying to adjust to major changes that challenged me mentally and physically. Resilience came to life after a really tough year (Pandemic) that brought financial worries and the emotional rollercoaster of being in lockdown. Through this time I was lucky enough to learn more about how to cope with ADHD and a mind that always feels 'busy'. This artwork celebrates the growth and recovery of the year 2020 not only for myself but for others as well as we take on a new year. The struggles aren't over but I want to commemorate our 'survival' of adversity. This is my view of resilience in the face of adversity.

I am a South African artist who took up Visual arts in high school and then went from pursuing engineering to being a full time entrepreneur and self-taught artist. My creativity and ideas stem from emotion and I use art as an outlet. In my work I expose 'me'. I use art as a platform to spark conversations about mental health, cultural and social issues. I make use of a lot of personal elements of my identity to create art. I create expressively and appreciate not needing to conform to the norms. I prefer doing works with acrylic paint but have grown quite fond of mixed media.
