Resurrection: Awakening of colors and shapes Painting

Silvija Sikavica is an established Croatian artist based in Croatia (Rijeka and Dubrovnik) whose works have featured in exhibitions, collections. Her paintings are marked by evident influences from her background in expression, and boast a mix of self-contained forms that stand clear and simple as individual elements, but interweave with each other to achieve a more complex overall aesthetic. In 1993, she started studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka at the Department of Fine Arts, graphic direction by prof. Maja Franković; After studies in 1999, at own studio in Rijeka, she paint to order; used to work also large posters (on canvas); also she done few works attaching printed text and different graphic techniques to own drawings, as well as small sculptures and reliefs that were made molded from different discarded materials; she used to work as assistant at restoration interventions on altar paintings, frames and frescoes from the Art Nouveau period and baroque.
