“Portrait on blue background" by Enrique Pichardo is a 122x152 cm work, elaborated in acrylic on canvas. In this abstract portrait, the blue background serves as a backdrop, while white, blue, black and orange stand out as complementary colors. The enveloping blue creates an atmosphere of serenity and depth in the composition. White, blue, black and orange intertwine in the abstract figure, outlining shapes and contours that suggest movement and vitality. Each shade of color contributes to the expressiveness and dynamism of the portrait, adding layers of meaning and emotion to the work. White highlights the brighter areas, while blue and black provide contrasts and shadows that give depth and volume to the image. Orange adds a touch of warmth and energy, infusing the composition with a sense of vitality and passion. Together, these colors work in harmony to create an abstract portrait that captivates the viewer's attention and invites them to explore the emotional and symbolic nuances of the work. “Portrait on a Blue Background" is a fascinating exploration of the interplay between color and form, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a world of artistic expression and contemplation.

The Mexican plastic artist, Enrique Pichardo, has more than 30 years of experience as a painter. His technique and style combine artistic influences from other countries with the traditional Mexican influence. In his own words, he defines his art as naive expressionism. The plastic work of Enrique Pichardo has more than one aspect. On the one hand, he creates works that are densely populated with shapes, figures, and colors. On the other hand, he has abstracted urban landscapes with a neutral color palette that recreates everyday situations. However, the special characteristic that maintains the cohesion of all his pieces is the conviction of approaching art through a return to his childhood and his first traces. Paint like a child, paint with more expression than technique, paint with feeling over technique. The painter seeks the skillful strokes of his inner child to carry out each of his pieces.
