This is part of a series of paintings based on the idea of the Roads to Nowhere. These are roads dug in Ireland by victims of the famine that were meant to provide a life line but instead worked the victims to death. All over Ireland these roads still exist going nowhere. The figure in the painting stand over a T junction yellow road empty handed. The colours are drawn from the concept of migration, a fresh start, a new beginning.

I was born in Belfast, N.Ireland and left like many others during the troubles. I studied Fine Art in England, then moved further afield living and working in UAE, Hong Kong, Antigua, Romania before returning home 8years ago. My work has been a response to the varying cultures and experience I have observed. Colours play with symbols to tell the stories of my adventures and to gain an understanding of my and others journey in life.
