Titled 'Rosalind, Evie and Yolanda' is painted on a canvas board using Acrylics and oil pencil. The background was achieved by using several mixtures of blue/green hues which were thickly layered and dried. The figures were painted in acrylics and overlayed with oil pencil to achieve a softness to their features. Rosalind's hat has the same 3 dimensional flower from peeled dried out paint, like my other painting 'The Mermaid in a Bath of Bubbles' (see the close up photo). My inspiration for this painting is founded by my love of vintage glamour and this also represents a quote great quote by Plato 'Human behaviour flows from three main sources: 'desire, emotion and knowledge' Rosalind is the symbol of desire, she has style, grace and attitude. Her red dress represents all she is passionate for, she is strong, bold and fends for herself. She is glamour and a strong woman. Evie the parrot symbolises emotion. She sits patiently perched on her shoulder, like a wise feathered friend that represents a healing voice of reason, patience and guidance. Yolanda the leopard is the mammal for knowledge. He has lived a life of loyalty and survival. He proudly stands closely by her side, he is her protector, her confidante and her loyal companion. The power of 3 stand together as one much like the elements of the earth, moon and sun.

I never really know what to write, or even how to talk about myself especially when it comes to ones own topic. So I will keep this brief. I am a UK-based artist who earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Communication from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia in 1998. I travelled a lot, lived in Australia , which was my home for 7 years. Moved back to the UK and subsequently moved around the Southcoast area such as Brighton, Lymington, Southampton, Isle of Wight until settling back to Bournemouth. I became a Teacher in 2002, and taught Design and Art at Brockenhurst College for 6 years. In 2016 I went to college and studied counselling and received a diploma in art therapy. During my training, I had a small business in Pokedown for three years, in which I sold and exhibited Art, made coffees and sold Vintage clothing with my dear friend Rob. This is where I started my Art therapy workshops for several charities and non profit organisations., such as B'EAT, BCHA, Richmond Fellowship, Rise and so on. I have been fortunate to have exhibited work in locations across UK , including Brighton where I lived for several years, Bournemouth and London, I also exhibited my work at Brush Gallery in Singapore. Over the years I have sold many works to collectors around the world. One particular piece is owned by a well-known figure from the band The Jam. I was fortunate to have also worked on several commissioned works for branding US reality shows such as Gas Monkey, and Orange County Choppers. I have also worked with record labels such as Azuli records and generated album covers for Space Ibiza. In the last few years I have been primarily focusing on painting and exploring my own creative techniques. Playing on the quirky and whimsical narrative and utilising my intuition when it comes to creating my pieces. I do not like to limit my style, but rather I see it as a journey of self-expression. I love combining textures and blending vivid colours together, and most of the time I have no idea where the final piece will take me, I just tend to carry on till I say 'It's Done..' Once again Thank you for visiting my Saatchi Studio. . I am available for commissions, exhibitions and purchases. If you want to ask me anything please use the contact page. I will be happy to discuss anything ( well not anything ) you understand what I mean ..
