S2E1: Yato-no-kami is part of the Intelevisionary series Dimensions: (H) 7.08” x (W) 7.08”x (D) 0.78” – (H) 18cm x (W) 18cm x (D) 2cm In an age of gods and monsters it pays to be Intelevisionary. The Intelevisionary series began as a rational departure to explore a more freeform and unplanned approach to painting. It is a fusion of contemporary/urban and street-based art clashing with traditional aspects of Japanese mythology and calligraphic forms. Each work evolves with a symbolic brushstroke in stark black acrylic on a pristine white canvas. A select colour palette of either red, green or blue is chosen to define forms within the inky black mark. It is at this point the monsters emerge – a mangled collision of grotesque, alien, mechanical yet strangely beautiful creatures with parallel connections highlighting the idiosyncratic nature of contemporary society. This is an immersive series where the very narrative can be changed and altered by you. Separately available artwork panels from the Intelevisionary group (red, green or blue) can all be connected visually either by rotating or rearranging. Be part of the mythology. Your very own piece of the story is superbly presented in a handcrafted presentation case ready for display. Alternatively, remove from the casing for wall mounting. Heavy weight cotton canvas stretched over seasoned timber. Hooks and wire mounted on reverse side. Painted surface is gloss varnished for durability. Encased artwork is carefully packaged and shipped in protective cardboard postage box.

Drew Harrison is an acrylic paint specialist from Adelaide, South Australia and started his career as an illustrator. As a contemporary artist, Drew regularly explores an infinite set of ideas using a wide array of technical and artistic styles. It is a creative amalgamation which adds greater depth and perspective to the interpretation of a concept. The underlying theme that underpins Drew's work is a search for connections across the complexities of human lives that are becoming increasingly characterized by fragmentation, provocation, and isolation. This allows him to indulge in storytelling with the aim of challenging individual viewpoints. An examination of humanity is often represented subliminally via mechanical and inanimate objects. Most interesting in his contemporary work is his use of hidden context, engaging the observer in the interpretive process. Colour, shape, form and texture are strong hallmarks of his work, and the resultant paintings are defined by bold imagery influenced by realism, pop-art, impressionist and expressionist styles. Drew remains an accomplished fine artist in the field of landscape and aviation/military art and has many prestigious national releases, including for the Royal Australian Air Force Centenary in 2021. He has exhibited in group exhibitions and his paintings are represented in private collections. Those open to exploration will find artwork that stimulates the mind and engages.
