SAPERE AUDE Painting

The title of this painting is the work of the well-known lyrical, satirical and critical poet of the year 65 BC, Horacio. Later, the same phrase was adopted by the French philosopher Kant, becoming the motto of an entire intellectual revolution in which reason stood out over tradition. In the center of the canvas, separating the deep and turbulent night blue sky, a large, worn book can be seen. The pages of said book are turning one to another. This gives the illusion that someone, or something, is leafing through the information inside, looking for the right pages where they can find the answer they are looking for. The ink spreads over some of the pages falling, which means that some of the words that can be found inside are gradually disappearing and entering the skies that surround it. It cannot be clearly understood if this happens because that is the cycle that the history it contains must follow, or on the contrary, because the guide that the book can give the person who is looking inside disappears once it is consumed. . But what we know from his appearance is that he has passed from person to person, from soul to soul, from student to student, reaching the point where his appearance changes drastically from what it might have been at first.
