I am a former architect and current artist completing a Master of Fine Arts degree, where I explore the loneliness and isolation of modern life through painting, sculpture, and video. My work is informed by my background in architecture, my interest in visual storytelling, and how space, memory, and technology impact the human experience. Before starting my studies in fine arts, I worked as an architect for several years, gaining valuable experience in design and teaching. As an interior designer, I created creative and functional spaces for living and working. As a designer and supervisor of smart building systems, I also strived to create smart and responsive environments by integrating new technologies with architecture. These experiences taught me how much space can influence human behavior, emotions, and connection - or isolation. Alongside my architectural practice, I also worked as a teacher in architecture-related courses, sharing my knowledge of 3D construction and visual thinking with students. Teaching gave me a deeper understanding of the importance of communication and clarity in design and education - skills that continue to influence my artistic work today. After that, I tried to combine architecture with art and use it as a tool to express the emotional and psychological realities of people living in today’s world, especially the growing sense of isolation caused by technology, modern cities, and social change, and in this way I began my studies in the MA Fine Arts. My current work includes paintings and sculptures that often feature thin, fragile human figures placed in ruined or forgotten architectural settings. These figures represent modern man – alone, thoughtful, sometimes lost, but still searching for meaning. My visual style is influenced by Persian miniature painting, particularly in its use of color and light, and by my architectural background, which helps me create strong compositions with symbolic space and structure. One of my projects was a lecture performance, a combination of words, animation, video and sound to express human loneliness in the context of historical memory and architecture. I am inspired by filmmakers such as Michelangelo Antonioni and Andrei Tarkovsky, who used architecture, silence and space to show inner feelings and human struggle. Their influence helps me to create a quiet but powerful emotional rhythm in my visual work.
