ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by the early Modernists (Kandinsky, S.Delaunay) and the remarkable ideas surrounding physics/philosophy, I explore the imaginary of forces compelling the physical universe. I hope the viewer will be excited by the color and activity of the imagery, and find in it a stimulating conversation. Gouache allows me the freedom to work in a watery environment while allowing me to create opaque forms within itl. The economy of space I live with demands a certain scale with the Arches cold pressed paper.

Born in New York City of artist parents, Jane Hudson has pursued the life of an artist through rock music, video art, photography and painting as well as teaching artists for many years at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Jane received an NEA for her work in Video, and showed large abstract paintings in Boston at the Atlantic Gallery, Nielsen Gallery and Segal Gallery in Boston. She is also a composer and musical performer.
