Painting Happiness Kamal Devnaath’s paintings are often described as Joyful and Happy and the words neatly capture the spirit of his work. His vibrant canvases are striking for their technical finesse and masterful use of color. His series of distinctive stylized figures have become instantly recognizable and have won him wide media coverage. Some of these early works were featured in a limited-edition designer series used for a charity auction in Gurgaon. Kamal is a self-taught artist who believes that the lack of formal training actually gives him freedom to experiment and work without artificial constraints. Over the last few years Kaml has developed a more realistic expression in his paintings and has worked on stylized portraiture commissions. The artist is equally at home in oils and acrylics and is currently exploring clay sculpture. Currently based in Gurgaon, Kamal’s work has also been recognized and awarded by the honorable CM of the state. He has headlined shows in Delhi and other metros and has successfully exhibited overseas.
