Sacrifice Painting

This project was tagged sacrifice because i believe in the existence of mankind on earth we have certain time and season to be part of any engagement(work) of this world and i know across the world age mostly causes a restriction whether we like it or not, especially to women that are aged, they have to step down their role maybe as the owner of a company, businesses, traders, farmers or more for their younger or children to takeover from them. But it's heartbroken that in our today's world is only the highly prominent(rich) homes that still function in this manner, looking at my reference on this project is showing an elderly woman going through what i called hard tense of labour which is very wrong for a man not even a woman of her age, the most amazing part here was the placement of the calabash on her neck not on her head that left me WOW! For more than a minute because I have never come across people carrying stuff on their neck not on their heads like what i saw that day before, even the expression of people passing-by it's so obvious am not the only one actually feeling amazed and that led me to do more research and i got to know that is a culture of one notable tribe in Northern part of Nigeria called Gbagyi. Even at that, i celebrate God's grace for the strength to carry the heavy load on her neck at her age. The sweat coming out of her body tells to me that this can only be sacrificed for making ends meet. This project is dedicated to all the strong women out there not necessarily facing hardship like what I have here but have been so committed to their various daily tasks to make their home a welcoming space for everyone around them.
