ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This triptych of a couple of sandhill cranes, copper leaf on wood panel, was inspired by a period when I was living on a houseboat on the St John's River in Florida. For 5 years, I got to know this couple that lived near by. Watching their daily routines and mating rituals, dancing for one another. I chose to paint these birds on copper leaf to let the viewer choose their surrounding with the natural aura of light it produces.
