The third of the series of bird portraits is of the quintessential Florida bird, the sandhill crane. It is an experiment in broad strokes and almost monochromatic color with just a touch of color. Sandy can preen solitarily or can be joined to the two other bird portraits, Salt and Pepper, for a triptych effect. The painting is acrylic on canvas board with a gloss varnish and is unframed.
