This intense painting features Mr. Daytona Scott Russell, one of the most exciting riders during Daytona’s competitive superbike years. Lee met Scott Russell at Road Atlanta in 1988 one year after Lee started racing novice class and when Scott had just become the new super fast guy. Their first meeting, Lee had with him a painting featuring Scott and he purchased it the minute he saw it. The beginning of a friendship that lasts to this day. A few years later in 1993, Scott took Lee with him to Europe to contest the World Superbike championship. Scott won the title in thrilling fashion. The experience Lee had travelling to the races with Scott was one of the fondest memories he has. Scott Russell is a fan favorite and awesome human being.

Lee Bivens has 28 official art titles, his resume is far to vast to detail here so we ask you to Google his name.

This painting presents Scotts unique Muzzy Kawasaki team colors very well. The yellow on Scotts leathers has a little bit of every shade and the greens pop just like the actual bike did. Lee remembers walking into gas stations all over Europe to see numerous magazine covers with Scotts’ mean green emblazoned across them. Scott Russell is synonymous with Kawasaki green and Lee did a great job obtaining this tricky color. As you look at this piece you feel a certain amount of excitement, even danger. This painting speaks to you in that you can almost hear the sound of the Screaming Chief at work. The color scale is off the charts on this piece. Every color imaginable is use to achieve this excellent piece of impressionism.

This painting is beautiful. From a distance, this painting has realism qualities which is the goal with all impressionism paintings. Stretched canvas over wood and has a hanging wire on the back. Not framed.
