The painting's title, "Sediment is a method of conservation", derives from the exhibition ("The Amplitude of Sediment") held before the group exhibition the following painting was featured in. The photograph used to create this piece depicts my grandfather asleep at an excavation site in Montenegro, in contre-jour.
