About The Artwork

Things happen while I'm painting that tickle my inquisitive brain. I find these things irresistible - the centering I feel in front of a canvas, the transcendent moment when surface and paint and motion begin to meld into something that pushes me farther than I thought I wanted to go, the unconventional documentation of real experience in nature, and, the notion of "escaping" time. I look up, three hours have passed, and it felt like three minutes. We all have things in our lives that evoke these kinds of experiences. This painting encourages you to explore them more often. Seeing Time 365, 24"x 18" is 1.5" deep, wired and ready to hang. It does not need to be framed.

She's licensed work to designers and consultants for projects large and small. "Artist and naturalist, I'm curious about how the land inspires awe, how we feel it deep in our bones, how to express that connection, and what we can learn from it. My process-focused work explores pattern, connection, and balance in the natural world. I love how my energetic, investment-quality abstracts bring harmony from the natural world to interior spaces." Artist and naturalist trained in studio art, graphic design, and landscape architecture, Michelle Louis' studio extends to her yard, where she nurtures an edible landscape. BA, University of Wisconsin, USA.
