Painted sides.
Ready to hang.
Framed in a wooden floater frame.

Abstract faces are where I started as a painter - visceral reactions to new headlines. (See "Upon Hearing The #News" Collection.) Even though I never knew where I was going to end up once I began laying down paint, after several months, I felt confident a face would emerge. And it always did. Never one to be too comfortable as an artist, I wondered what would happen if I stopped being so precious and, as Tyler did in Fight Club, "destroyed something beautiful." Using a graffiti marker, I imagined the artist and inner art critic defacing my work. And this is happily where we landed, liberating myself in the process.

Often paradoxical in nature, my works draw on pop, street, folk, and punk aesthetics to transmute the trauma and pain of our world into expressions of joy, connection, and hope. Inspired by my own healing, my wish is that my art will move others to seek out their own imperfect truths, finding all that advertising tries to sell, already present within themselves.
