About The Artwork

The piece consists of eight separate paintings assembled into a single composition. I reduced the color palette to a minimum, trying to focus on the tense, almost graphic plastic that conveys the drama of each specific and unique personality trying to find its place in this mad, accelerated by the progress world. Each person is limited to his living space, which is both a refuge and a cell for him. The desire to get out of this cell and the fear of losing shelter, in my opinion - one of the main paradoxes of human nature.

I am a professional artist and dedicate all my time to painting. My technique is oil, I prefer it for density, richness and tangibility. Texture and form are two dominant concerns in my figurative paintings. As an artist, I try to bring personalized emotional experience and mystify the viewer, involving him into contemplation game; I like to stay detached and observe, and I feel excitement when others are involved and excited, sometimes revealing things I have not ever thought of.In my artwork I constantly experiment with texture, assigning it a very special role. I like to freely endow my characters with unusual, not inherent textures. I like to play around tangling roles, emphasizing equal values, unity and interplay of all reality elements. When I paint I feel like a spectator of world transformations, watching it flow back and forth from conscious to unconscious. I have been always fascinated with this subtle flow, glow and sliding. I never think about the picture, but always contemplate and play around a life situation in my mind that does not have any relation to me and to what I am working on at the moment. Art can be a matter for philosophy or rhetoric, but I think its impossible to explain it, so I give my spectator a full freedom of associations, leaving him peacefully unaware, although he does not seem to be satisfied with it at most of the times
