Self portrait Painting

A portrait painter invariably paints himself or herself from time to time. The subject matter is always close at hand. But catching just the right sketch or photo clip, or whatever inspires takes some time/ Here I caught myself with my wild curls flowing around the head and my "scholarly" glasses looking somewhat serious. The real idea behind the portrait is the play of lights and darks which define the facial features indirectly, especially the shadows of glass frames and curls, that play accordingly across the right half of the face.
