About The Artwork

Experimenting with materials and forms is part of the process of creation. This is one of the sketches I designed before finishing the serial of paintings on canvas "flowers, fruits and the city of Leh".This work is situated between abstraction and figuration. Tulpomania is referring to a 17th century fashion when people were speculating on tulip's bulbs. Some won and lost great amounts of money as the "semper augustus"'s bulb was overestimated. Nowadays passion for tulips and for flowers remain in the Netherlands: this work refers to the rythm of colors in gardens, trees and nature in the blooming season.
