SPECIES 197x145cm Painted surface height 162cm + disentanglement 35cm A visual that I have held on to for over 20 years. A visualization of the dormant sentient collective. The collection of sentients visioned together reflects a common collective consciousness. The sentiment of an eternal consciousness forever presents its own defined space. The head forms representing - the sentient human form. Painted by pochoir, each form similar yet entirely unique. The construct graphic schema - the related reality of the world in which we live. Printed with lino block, a uniform construct. The abstract background - The universe Free and abstract in conception and execution. It's fascinating to see how certain series evolve and take on new meanings over time. I've likened the matrix to quarantine recently. The piece is a wall hanging. The Oakwood baguette above assures tension across the surface. Inox wire hanging system. (see photos)

France
From South Africa to the south of France via London, Peter Pitout has developed a style of his own. He has participated in several exhibitions in France, and art residencies in France, Germany, and Finland. Artist Statement - Often referencing physics and metaphysics, my work explores the varying relationships between philosophy, surreal concepts, and the modern digital age. Engaging subjects as diverse as particle physics, meditation and intimacy, my work reproduces familiar visuals and symbolism, arranging them into new conceptually layered images. While I use a variety of materials and processes within my body of work, I naturally return to oil paint. I enjoy studying modern concepts through this ancient lens. My series of works are linked by recurring observations of the current time and through the study of subject matter. The subject matter of each body of work determines the materials and the formats of the work. Each project often consists of multiple works, grouped around a specific theme.
