Serendipity Painting

Cats in general have always fascinated me especially the great cats. Their power, economy of movement and beauty most especially the white ones. As most cats don't really like water, but these cats do, they love water and can often be found just cooling off swimming or wading in water. This is one of the reasons why I chose this one wading and nibbling at the waterlilys. Although white is not the regular colour of the tigers, I wanted to show the coolness of the white tiger and water against the warm colours of the surrounding, giving off the heat of the tropics through colours. Starting with abstract background in acrylic paint and sketch in the base painting. Then take up my oils to paint in the layers of transparency and the details with depth of tiger and foliage.
