Sewing the sea to the mountain Painting

Inspired by Maria Lai, Italian Artist, this paint represents the beauty and culture of Sardinia, my homeland. The culture in Sardinia is very important and rich, you have to get to the remote villages inside the island to appreciate it fully, and one of its main aspects revolves around sewing with the loom or by hand. A poem written by Carlo Borghi and dedicated to Maria Lai that perfectly describes my artworks goes "If you give me a magic needle I will sew these Sea rocks to these Mountain stones so that people or animals will not fall down the cliffs/ravines.". This piece of a poem pictures Sardinia's landscapes in the greatest way possible: dangerous beauty. The read thread symbolises the love for the land and sea that Sardinia is.
