The desire of the hands is realized through tools and it shows the human himself. After splitting stone to make a knife, humans have made a lot of tools to this day. Using those tools, they made even more tools and the number grew as self-proliferating, so there are more tools than the human population. As we look back as we walk on the road, wouldn't it be necessary to look back at things we made and reflect on direction sometimes? Humans made fire, stories, and gods. Humans now want to make life. Was it a journey to eventually become a god? Will they be satisfied if they achieve it? Looking at the stars, I think about humans who first named them.

Born in 1968, I worked as an illustrator in publishing and advertising for over 20 years from the mid-1990s. Since then, I changed my direction to fine art and participated in five solo and group exhibitions and have won prizes in domestic and international competitions over the past 10 years. My favourite materials are oil and watercolour, and my main theme is the relationship between vision and perception. I pursue to materialise my theme as harmonious forms on a canvas. With a style that encompasses figuration and abstraction, I strive to produce thoughtful paintings, while maintaining a balance between forms and concept. I run and work in an active studio in Seoul.
