VIEW IN MY ROOM
Q1: This piece was inspired by the admiration I have for St. Children's Hospital and there constant passion to help children who are in need. I believe children should be protected and cared for in all situations and that we as adults should listen to the intuitive wisdom of children more often. When I started painting I had no idea what direction I wanted to go. All I knew was that I wanted to paint a girl carrying a baby boy. My art is revealed to me spritually as I painted it, and close to finishing it I heard the names Miriam and Moses. This is Miriam carrying Moses to the water and the swirling symbols around them is the symbolism of everything Moses and Miriam needed to know in order to carry out their mission and purpose. All symbols were created through me and can all be explained because they are cosmic music notes. I personally believe the world was sung into existence. Q2: I would hope that viewers will feel the endearing warmth, and power of the painting, and that looking at it will make them understand that children have voices too. I would hope that this will invoke a certain level of compassion and understanding, and that children's thoughts and opinions in this society shouldn't be overlooked just because they aren't adults. Q3: I chose acrylic and airbrush because the smoothness of this medium would give the soft effects I wanted to create with the children's faces. I also wanted the piece to look regal and elegant as well. So I used gold leaf in the corners and gold leaf calligraphy ink and pens. The style is a collaboration of my love and enthusiasm for the cosmos, space and time, mathematics, spirituality, vibrations, and humanity.
