ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Multiple layers of oil paint, rubbed, scraped and incised on a thick cradled birch panel includes hardware and wire, ready to hang. Edges are painted and work is signed on the back. I am inspired by nature, the play of subtle colors and light. I began painting on wood panels as I like the way paint can be applied and sanded, removed, incised. More depth can be achieved this way. This painting had a completely different start, but came into its own darker, beautiful essence after months of rest and then rejuvenation.
