Initially I worked in graphic design before studying fine art, so a strong sense of design drives me. My ideas are taken from philosophy, stories, legends, history, landscape, weather. I am inspired by the Colour Field artists of the 1960’s for the way they used space in their paintings to create a new way of seeing. My work has become more intuitive in the way I apply paint to canvas. Often referencing landscapes, I like to combine both overhead and traditional perspective views.
