About The Artwork
Shiva, "The Destroyer", is one of the three supreme beings who create, protect and transform the universe as per Hinduism. Ganesha, remover of obstacles, is a beloved Hindu God who is Shiva's son. This artwork depicts devotion at a supreme being level, with Ganesha bowing in front of a Shiva Lingam with utmost reverence. I have painted Ganesha in orange hues to signify auspiciousness as per Hindu traditions, with the vermilion, textured "Tilak" on his forehead. The Shiva Lingam is painted with a stone look resembling the traditional granite sculptures in the Hindu temple - with the white, textured "Tilak" adding a prominent feature. The dark themed background of the painting has been chosen to provide a stark contrast with the otherwise bright colors of the main figures. This artwork is aimed for a collector who is looking to welcome home a divine father-son duo!
