Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen are often called Romeo and Juliet of punk. The tabloids love such stories: passion, drugs, violence, abuse, and a tragic ending. In 1978, Nancy was 20 when she was found stabbed to death in the bathroom of room 100 at the Chelsea Hotel in Manhattan. Sid, the bassist of Sex Pistols, was charged with the murder. He was 21 when he died of heroin overdose while released on bail four months later. Their relationship lasted 19 months. They have been on the edge all the time. photo credit: Steve Emberton
