About The Artwork
This piece is inspired by the Sirens of ancient Greek mythology that lured sailors to wreck their wooden ships on the rocky shores by playing music so sweet the sailors could not resist it. The right side of the piece represents water surrounding a jutting rocky shore and the left side represents the shards of a shattered and burned wooden hull. I created this piece as an honorarium/lament to those among us that cannot resist the call of destructive forces and are ultimately brought to wreckage.
