About The Artwork
Inspiration for this painting came from the male form, and it's reverence in Greek mythology. We also find that biblically the angelic form is most always male, with their physical as well as mental strength at the forefront of their very being. These 2 paintings, the other 'Uriel' which is also for sale here on Saatchiart evoke a sense of protection. They are accented with ground gold leaf paint, which gives off a subtle shimmer.
