Scene 1 from the series "180 million light years from Earth" The inaccessible and mysterious space has always been a terrible secret for mankind, for an attempt to solve which, before the beginning of technical progress, was punished with death. But gradually - step by step, with each theory expressed aloud, with each life devoted to science and the search for truth, individuals pushed the whole of humanity to a new stage of development. The Earth was considered unique until astronomers found other planets around the sun. Then we decided that our galaxy, the Milky Way, is the Universe, but we soon discovered that many blurry specks in the sky are also galaxies that dot the cosmic landscape. It is known that people will be able to fly to other planets, and then galaxies, perhaps they will be able to see other worlds with brothers in mind living in them. But what luck it will be to find a planet very similar to Earth, with the same atmosphere, with the same water in rivers, oceans and seas, with forests and meadows, valleys and mountains - a blue planet, the pearl of space. The idea to work on a series of paintings was born after reading a news article by The Sun - "At a distance of 180 million light years from Earth, scientists from Yonsei University in Seoul have discovered a cluster identical to the Milky Way galaxy. A massive spiral galaxy is exactly like a star system , in which the solar system is located. On the basis of images from the telescope, scientists have compiled an alleged model of the cluster: in addition to an almost exact repetition of the boundaries of the Milky Way, the cluster NGC 2718 has a similar structure - large clouds similar to the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. " It is possible that somewhere there live the same people, but without wars, crises and flying to Mars. The painting is made with acrylic using impasto technique and covered with protective varnish. The series will include 9 paintings.
