ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Original design Pop art portrait of two cute Paraguayan indigenous girls. For me it's the most important piece I've painted to date. This painting reflects the love and innocence I witnessed on a rare opportunity to visit a beautiful tribe in the heart of Paraguay. These are two girls I met on a rare meeting with a very private Achè tribe in Paraguay. The girls were at one with nature, climbing trees in their bare feet over raging rivers without a second thought. The pink background is stylised to represent the tree filled jungle that is their home, portrayed as a kind of wallpaper to their playground. As with all my pieces, my aim is for as little brush mark texture on the canvas as possible. I don't use software to produce my initial design, each painting is drawn by hand from the source photo. For me this gives the finished painting a much smoother, and more unique look. Acrylic on canvas. The sides are painted black ready to hang direct, or frame.

Jamie is a British artist, living in Paraguay, South America. He visited the country in 2004 for just two months to brighten up a children's home with some murals and teach the kids drumming. However, he fell in love with Paraguay, moved there, got married there, and has been there ever since. He continues to brighten walls in schools, children’s homes and hospitals across the country with his art. Through his mural painting process he honed his pop art style and sells his original painted canvases across the world through SaatchiArt. He is also a vector illustrator and is approaching 100,000 illustration sales worldwide. His aim with his paintings is to recreate the perfectly sharp lines of his vectors on painted canvas, and like his mural painting, to brighten any wall with some happy imagery and a big splash of colour.
