SkyScape III Painting

SkyScape III – The inspiration for this painting, and all the SkyScape series comes from looking at the same landscape and scenery every day, but noticing and capturing the scene during a moment of particular beauty. I chose the photo for this painting not only because it fits the minimal foreground theme of the series, but also because it contains a more traditional color scheme, moving away from the sunrise/sunset palettes of SkyScape I & II. Clouds become the subject matter in SkyScape III, dominating the gentle blue gradient of the sky above. It was completed in March 2018. Painted with professional grade acrylic paints and gel medium. Sealed with UV resistant clear, gloss sealant. The canvas is 1.5 inches thick, unframed and painted black around the edges. Textured points at the edges range from .25 to .5 inches off the canvas. This artwork is signed in the lower right corner with the artist's signature, a lower case "e". Wire for hanging is attached.
