ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This work was created during the Spring of 2020 when the COVID pandemic was raging in my city of Philadelphia. I was struck by the visions of smoke from burning cars during the riots in the city center from the George Floyd protests. As in most of my artwork, I am inspired by events or memories that evoke strong feelings. It took me a long time to finish this piece. The process is rather meditative as well as therapeutic. I hope viewers feel a sense of hope when they look at this piece.
