In the aftermath of nature's fury, where flames once danced with wild abandon, a landscape now lies shrouded in an eerie tranquility. "Smoldering," an oil painting of poignant intensity, captures the aftermath of a wildfire's wrath with haunting beauty. Dominated by a palette of dusky pinks and somber grays, the canvas portrays a landscape scarred by the ferocity of flames yet imbued with a fragile sense of hope. Against a backdrop of charred trees and scorched earth, wisps of yellowish smolders linger, a testament to the fire's recent passage. These tendrils of heat, like fading memories, weave through the landscape, casting an ethereal glow upon the desolation. The once vibrant foliage now stands as skeletal remnants, their twisted forms reaching towards a sky tinged with hues of sorrow and resilience. Amidst the devastation, pockets of life stubbornly cling to existence. The remaining foliage pushes through the ash-laden soil, symbolic of nature's enduring spirit of renewal. Through masterful brushwork and subtle chiaroscuro, the artist evokes a sense of profound melancholy tempered by a glimmer of optimism. Each brushstroke seems to whisper tales of loss and resilience, inviting viewers to contemplate the delicate balance between destruction and regeneration in the natural world. "Smoldering" is more than a mere portrayal of devastation; it is a meditation on the cyclical nature of life, where even amidst the ashes of destruction, the seeds of renewal patiently await their moment to bloom once more.

Serbia
Contemporary artist living in Belgrade, Serbia. I received my Bachelor and Master Degrees at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade. During my studies, I had spent one year at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. A member of the Serbian Art Association (ULUS) I have been interested in art ever since I can remember. As I was growing up I dipped my toe in lots of things, ballet, piano, singing, writing... At the age of twelve I met one elderly painter who fascinated me and gave me some lessons in painting. Becoming an artist was my dream at that time. I find inspiration for my work everywhere, in so many amazing artists both from art history and from contemporaries worldwide. Nature is also very important, especially plants with their juicy little details. But most of my inspiration, or what drives me comes from work itself. The more I paint or draw the more new ideas I have. When it comes to mediums and techniques, I mostly paint with oil colors on canvas. I find the oil technique to be the best medium for my urban landscapes. It has great flow and transparency which helps me depict the motion of the city's busy life and to work in layers. As for drawing I absolutely love it! I find it the most sincere of all techniques, where the artist is who he is. I use practically every medium or technique but ink is my favorite medium because it requires patience and focus and with it, I can really emphasize the details. I have had eleven solo shows and counting. I participated in a number of group shows, workshops, art camps and won the award at the Biennale of student drawing Serbia. My work is to be found in small private collections, in Austria, Germany, Hungary, and Serbia. If you are interested or have any questions about my work don't hesitate to ask me, I will be happy to answer.
