Society in Decay is a striking abstract composition that evokes the erosion of social structures through layered textures and a moody, metallic-organic palette. The canvas is dominated by swirling turquoise and bluish-green tones, reminiscent of tarnished patina on ancient bronze, suggesting both be...

Born in Schwerte, Germany, but with a nomadic soul, Brigitte Reters is an artist who found her voice in vibrant abstraction, where nature is her great muse. From her first steps in Tenerife (1982), where she began painting as a self-taught artist, to her travels through Thailand and her life on the sun-drenched Costa del Sol, her work has been a journey of textures, organic shapes, and colors that pulse with energy. Inspired by landscapes, natural structures, and changing light, her paintings are an explosion of intense reds, electric blues, golds, and deep greens, as if capturing the very essence of the earth, sea, and sky in motion. Each brushstroke, each layer of paint, seems to breathe with a life of its own, transforming canvases into abstract universes where nature reinvents itself. Her expressive and powerful style has evolved over the years, exploring collage, fluid acrylics, and mixed media, always with that unmistakable hallmark: colour as the protagonist. From her first exhibitions in Tenerife (1992) and Schwerte (2000) to her shows in Fuengirola and Malaga, her art has conquered spaces, decorating everything from galleries to clinics to designer boutiques with its luminous energy. Today, Brigitte doesn't just paint: her art leaps from the canvas to everyday life through printed garments, digital designs, and reproductions that bring her signature to collectors around the world. And although her work has traveled far and wide, its essence remains intact: nature as an endless source of inspiration, colour as a universal language, and creative freedom as its only rule. Because art, like the earth, never ceases to flourish.
