ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Myth, Muse and Metaphor #11 is a mixed media painting of acrylic, maps and vintage style wrapping paper on canvas. It features quirky and colorful mushrooms levitating through the air under a mushroom cloud. It was inspired by current events and thoughts of chaos, although it is very playful in execution. This piece is 24" x 24" x .8" and is varnished and wired for hanging. The surface is meticulous and detailed. In all of my work, I am interested in the formal aspects of picture-making as well as a narrative that can lie beneath the surface.
